Role Overview
My client is seeking a dynamic and commercially driven Cloud Data Services Sales professional (hunter profile) to own, grow, and lead their Microsoft Fabric cloud data services sales capability across the UK. This is a senior role responsible for shaping go-to-market strategy, driving revenue growth, and building a high-performing sales practice focused on modern data platforms, data analytics, and AI-powered insights.
You will act as the strategic bridge between Microsoft-aligned data technologies and customer business outcomes, positioning their organisation as a trusted advisor in Cloud data transformation and Cloud managed services.
Key Responsibilities
- Sales Leadership & Strategy: Define and execute the UK sales strategy for Cloud Data Services, with a strong emphasis on Microsoft Fabric, Azure Data Platform, and AI-driven analytics. Own and deliver against revenue, margin, and pipeline targets (circa £6M ACV after ramp). In time you will build and lead a specialist data sales team, fostering a high-performance, accountable culture.
- Microsoft Partnership & Alignment: Develop and maintain senior stakeholder relationships within Microsoft. Align sales motions with Microsoft Fabric priorities, incentives, and co-sell programs. Represent the business in joint go-to-market initiatives, events, and campaigns.
- New Business Development: Identify and develop new enterprise opportunities across key sectors. (Sales Hunter) Lead complex, high-value deals from qualification through to closure. Build relationships with Tier One/Two System Integrators. Engage C-suite stakeholders, positioning data as a strategic enabler of business value.
- Practice Development: Define consulting service offerings across data engineering, real-time data analytics, data governance, and AI. Collaborate with delivery and technical teams to ensure strong solution alignment and feasibility. Develop repeatable propositions, accelerators, and industry-specific solutions.
- Market Positioning & Thought Leadership: Act as a visible market leader in Microsoft Fabric and data services for complete data optimisation in the Cloud. Contribute to marketing campaigns, whitepapers, and speaking engagements to enable improved decision making, operational cost efficiency and enhance compliance & security. Stay ahead of industry trends, competitor positioning, and emerging technologies.
Key Skills & Experience
- Stable (no job hoppers) & Proven track record in senior sales (new business) roles within cloud data, data migration, data analytics, or AI related managed data services.
- Deep understanding of Microsoft data ecosystem, including Fabric, Azure Synapse, Power BI, and data governance tools.
- Strong experience building and scaling sales practices within a consultancy or systems integrator.
- Demonstrated success in closing multi-million-pound (£1.5M+ ACV) digital transformation deals.
- Exceptional stakeholder management skills, including C-level engagement.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to shape high-value propositions.
- Experience working within Microsoft partner ecosystems is highly desirable but not essential.
- MUST be a UK national or ILR status (no sponsorship required).
