We're currently recruiting for an experienced/qualified Plasterer Multi to join our Property Team in our Newbury & Reading locality. As you'll spend a fair amount of time on the road we will provide you with a business use van and fuel card so you'll not be out of pocket.
What you'll do:
- Carry out all forms of plastering repairs in our properties as part of our Responsive Repairs Team and elsewhere depending on demands.
- Apply and finish acoustic, insulating and fireproofing materials bonded with plaster, plastic cement and similar materials.
- Prepare corner beads, and secure them in position.
- Fix pre-cast cornices, panel mouldings, coving, ceiling centres and other plaster fittings and determine plasterboard layout, and install insulation and vapour barriers.
- Plumb and straighten corners, angles, wall and ceiling surfaces as well as create decorative textures in finishing coats.
- Measure, mark and cut plasterboard, lift and position panels, and secure them to walls, ceilings and battens.
- Cover joins and nail holes with wet plaster and sealing compounds, smoothing them using wet brushes and sand paper.
- Mix and apply coats of plaster, cement and render to structures using trowels, and level and smooth coats to uniform thickness.
What you'll need:
- Experience within a similar role, ideally from within a Residential/Housing sector and must be qualified to a minimum of NVQ level 2 OR have a minimum of 5 years proven track record working as a plasterer.
- A strong health and safety mindset with knowledge of health & safety best practices.
- Enjoy working as part of a team.
This is a full-time role, working 40 hours per week. Due to the requirement to travel, you must hold a full and current driving licence with a minimum of 1 year's experience and have the ability to drive and take home a company van. This role is subject to a satisfactory licence check and essential qualifications.
