We are seeking an outstanding Sales and Marketing Director, based from our Basingstoke or Wembley offices to lead the strategic delivery of sales and marketing across Sovereign Network Group. This high-impact role will shape and execute a customer-focused sales strategy, driving performance across new build, resales, staircasing and asset disposals, while acting as the guardian of the SNG brand.

The role involves significant accountability for c.£125m+ in annual income streams and a £3m marketing budget, optimising revenue, enhancing customer experience from enquiry through to completion and aftercare, and ensuring a consistent, high-quality journey across all tenures.

As a key member of the senior leadership community, you will provide market insight, influence investment and product decisions, oversee joint venture performance, and build strong partnerships across the business and wider sector. Leading a sizeable, multi-disciplinary team, you will foster a culture of excellence, innovation and accountability while ensuring compliance, operational efficiency, and delivery against ambitious business plan targets.

The postholder will also lead on the disposal of individual void assets, staircasing, and resales activity, optimising capital release and supporting the organisation’s broader financial and asset management objectives.

Key accountabilities include:

  • Leading, inspiring, and managing the Sales and Marketing team, setting a clear vision and direction while fostering a culture of accountability, high performance, and continuous improvement.
  • Delivering the sales and marketing strategy, alongside the Strategic Asset Management (SAM) disposal strategy, to achieve business plan targets.
  • Overseeing stock management and the programme of sales and build completions, optimising performance and mitigating risk.
  • Driving improved customer outcomes throughout the patent and latent defect period, ensuring a high-quality customer experience post-sale.
  • Maintaining a live and informed view of the residential property market, using insights to shape pricing strategy with a balance of ambition and flexibility.
  • Setting the overarching sales and marketing strategy for SNG, defining policies, procedures, and governance to support its delivery and ensure compliance with current and emerging legislation.

Knowledge and Skills:

  • A track record of building and leading strategic partnerships, including joint ventures within housing and development, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and secure successful outcomes.
  • Broad experience gained across multiple roles within housing or a related sector, bringing a well-rounded and commercially informed perspective.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with a comprehensive understanding of practices associated with new development delivery, including risk, programme, and market positioning.
  • Highly financially literate, with the ability to interpret and challenge complex development funding models and appraisals.
  • Strong track record of setting and delivering ambitious sales targets, driving performance across both unit sales and revenue generation.
  • Confident and visible leader, with the ability to set clear strategic direction and inspire high-performing teams.
  • Extensive experience across asset sales, staircasing, and resales, with a focus on optimising value and supporting financial performance.
  • Deep understanding of the residential property market, including experience within estate agency, PLC housebuilders, and/or the social housing sector.
