We are currently recruiting for a Building Safety Project Officer to join our Property Services, Safety and Compliance team in Wembley.

The Role

With direction set by the Head of Building Safety Remediation, this role is responsible for organising technical investigations in line with associated guidance, procuring and managing qualified professionals to undertake surveys and liaising with key internal and external stakeholders. The role will support remediation works throughout the remediation lifecycle including procurement, design, contract works and completion. The role will be responsible for managing monthly financial cashflows and ensuring investigations/remedial works are in line with budget allocations.

The role will manage the building pathology and fire engineer investigations of SNG's existing building portfolio to determine the adequacy of the construction from a Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act perspective. In addition, to support the programme of remedial works that arise from these investigations, including implementation of temporary measures introduced to support a change in fire strategy.

  • Knowledge of housing association operating environment.
  • An understanding of the Building Regulations, Building Safety Act and Fire Safety Act related to residential buildings.
  • Project Management experience and ability to demonstrate managing a programme of investigations.
  • Interest in Building Safety and a basic understanding of the construction process (a desire to develop a career in this area).
  • Able to identify and promote customer care issues and a strong customer service / continuous improvement ethos.
