We are currently looking for an Energy Inclusion Officer to join SNG (Sovereign Network Group) on a 2-year Fixed Term Basis. Based from either our Dorset (Blandford/Hurn) or Hampshire (Basingstoke/Greenham) offices, with the flexibility of working from home. The role will require occasional travel to various office locations and home visits; this is an essential part of the position, and a car would be essential.
SNG provides over 85,000 homes and invests in communities across London and the South of England - our purpose is to provide quality affordable homes and places that people love for generations.
The role involves supporting our customers who are struggling the most financially, helping them find ways to improve their long-term financial situation. The focus will primarily be on reducing energy costs and consumption, whether that's through accessing grants or hardship funds, finding better deals, or making simple behaviour changes. Additionally, a more holistic approach will be taken by supporting customers with managing a budget and maximising their income. This will be done both by delivering advice yourself and by referring customers to other internal teams or external support where needed. Customers are at the heart of all we do, and this role will be very critical in helping make that heartbeat.
Key responsibilities:- Work collaboratively across the Community Foundation and with other internal teams across SNG so the Energy Service and wider support is understood and integrated to meet the needs of customers.
- Help to shape and continually improve the Financial Inclusion strategy across SNG's geography with a focus on innovation as outlined in the Thriving Communities strategy.
- Support the Financial and Digital Inclusion manager to identify new delivery partners to work with to continue to build the Energy offer to residents.
- Work closely with the Communications team to enable a proactive and inclusive internal and external communications approach to the service.
- Work with the Partnerships and Funding team to bring in external funding around Energy Inclusion priorities.
- Build and maintain key relationships with stakeholders in localities and others as agreed with the Financial and Digital Inclusion Manager.
- Prepare and present written, financial, and statistical reports as required.
- Responsible for data related to Community Investment and fundraising as set out in SNG's data landscape.
- Knowledge of financial inclusion and awareness of the challenges faced by individuals who are financially excluded.
- Knowledge and understanding of fuel poverty and fuel insecurity.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Confidence in using several different computer systems.
- Effective decision-making skills and the ability to prioritise a busy workload.
- The ability to positively connect with both internal and external stakeholders.
- Desirable to have contract management experience.
- Ability to validate and impact assess, to escape data issues as required.
- To hold (or be happy to achieve within the first few months of employment) a Level 3 Energy Awareness qualification or equivalent.
