Your role:

  • Balance risk, opportunity, and financial returns in both pre‑ and post‑contract commercial management.
  • Focus on delivery excellence and year‑performance (revenue, cash, and EBIT) while supporting market growth.
  • Prepare and negotiate subcontract/sub‑consultant contract documents and advise on appropriate procurement strategies.
  • Administer lump sum, target cost, and re‑measurable contracts, including calculation of quantities and unit rates in compliance with contractual guidelines.
  • Estimate and produce BofQs in line with standard methods of measurement.
  • Develop monthly PSR (CVR) and associated commercial reports such as Earned Value Management (EVM).
  • Shape and deliver the commercial strategy on projects to maximise revenue and cash flow.
  • Influence change control, manage claims and disputes, providing clear and concise updates to project leads.
  • Interpret contract programmes and schedules to identify associated risks and opportunities.
  • Proactively engage and advise project teams on commercial risks and opportunities, ensuring regular visibility across offices and sites.
  • Promote compliance with the Company Management System (CMS) and all AtkinsRéalis procedures, uphold company values and promote safety culture.
  • Contribute to wider market and divisional requirements as they arise.
  • Manage expectations of stakeholders and conflicting business priorities while delivering to challenging deadlines.

About you:

  • Appropriate Degree and/or member of (or working towards) an appropriate professional body (e.g., MRICS, MCInstCES).
  • Robust background of delivery in a commercial role from a main contractor or consultancy in Transport, Water and Energy sectors.
  • Highly skilled in contract management and change control.
  • Proficient in common Forms of Contract, particularly experience in managing NEC & NEC PSC.
  • An aptitude for solving complex and extensive problems creatively.
  • Excellent analytical skills and consistent attention to detail with the ability to solve complex problems and mitigate risks.
  • Exemplar verbal and written communication skills, including reporting, presenting and contractual correspondence.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing others in commercial or project teams.
