Job Description

The Infrastructure division within the UKI sector has an opportunity for a Senior Finance Business Partner to join our team. Reporting directly to the Finance Director, the Senior Finance Business Partner is responsible for the financial management of the infrastructure business.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliance with internal controls and external regulatory compliance, including VAT, and act as the lead contact for the statutory audit for the legal entities.
  2. Provide leadership to the wider finance team to optimise financial performance and strategic position, particularly to support and appraise commercial decisions for bid costing and pricing.
  3. Conduct monthly reviews alongside market/practice SFBPs, scrutinising and challenging the accuracy and reliability to ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards and to reduce financial risk.
  4. Champion a culture of continuous improvement following the implementation of ERP Oracle to maximise efficiency and enhance reporting for decision-making capabilities to ensure focus on achieving results.
  5. Oversee cash flow forecasting to maintain adequate liquidity for both operational and strategic activities.
  6. Provide financial analysis of business performance against budgets/forecasts/KPIs and insights to support decision-making to drive improved performance and growth.
  7. Partner with cross-functional teams to provide financial insights and support strategic decision-making.

Requirements:

  1. A qualified accountant with several years’ experience (ACA or equivalent).
  2. Strong academic record.
  3. Demonstrable growth mindset and strong record of collaboration.
  4. Curious about business and its drivers.
  5. Resilient and agile.
  6. The role will require travel, mainly within the UK.

Competencies:

  1. Well-developed commercial knowledge and business understanding.
  2. Strong technical accounting skills.
  3. Broad understanding of tax and compliance matters relevant to the geography.
  4. Strong people skills, comfortable in interacting with delivery, sales, functional, and operational staff at all levels of seniority.
  5. Well-developed communication and influencing skills.
  6. Comfortable with speaking in public and capable of presenting with passion.
  7. Empathetic but challenging; seeking continuous improvement of processes and performance.

Additional Information:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
