We offer flexible working based out of Leatherhead, South Mimms or Dartford with travel to projects or other offices as required. Requirement for site visits, including night shift H&S audits, as required. This role is available part time, job share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full time.
Your Role
We are looking for a dynamic and self-motivated individual with a project background to join this fast-paced team to deliver the lower risk highways and technology schemes in the portfolio or assist and support on the delivery of more complex schemes. Projects delivery will include the whole project lifecycle from feasibility through to handover. Schemes range in value from £100k to £3m+ and include safety schemes, environmental improvements, technology schemes, remedial works and junction improvement schemes.
- Responsible for a number of projects at different stages of the project lifecycle.
- Within each project responsibility for:
- End to end management of the project, to include scheme development and engagement through the life of the project with the asset team, designers, sub-consultants, construction team and contractors.
- Liaise with key internal and external stakeholders to include but not limited to Planner, Construction Manager, Project QS, Asset and Designers.
- Management of the P6 programme with the planning team, including identification of critical path activities.
- Commercial management of the project to include but not limited to cost plan, supply chain quotations, review and approval of invoices, forecasting, review of applications with the commercial team.
- Commission and manage internal and external resources in terms of quality, budget and programme.
- Lead on Gateways and collaborative cost reviews with the Client and project team.
- Adhere and apply the project governance procedure, including leading in presentations both virtual and in person with preparation of the supporting documentation to pass through project gateways.
- Routine reporting on project schedule / progress, risk and commercial status of the project internally and to the Client.
Working arrangements:
- Travel required to CPS/supplier offices on the M25 network, three days a week.
- Periodic requirement for site visits.
- Full Driving License.
About You
- Project Management Experience preferably supported by recognised Project Management qualification, APM PMQ, PRINCE2, APMP etc.
- Preference of minimum degree qualification and membership of appropriate professional institution or working towards such qualification.
- Broad skills, knowledge and understanding of Highway or Structures Engineering and associated design areas.
- Knowledge of CDM and other H&S and Environmental legislation related to Highway Engineering.
- Knowledge of the NEC (New Engineering Contract) and other relevant forms of contract.

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
