Bring your skills and expertise to our wider Transformation, Delivery & Consulting Practice as a PMO Consultant, where you’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring excellence and certainty across end-to-end project lifecycles. As a PMO Consultant, you’ll be at the forefront of delivering innovative solutions for our clients and internal teams as part of our Secure Government business unit directly contributing to our Core market.

This is a dynamic and rewarding role that calls for a broad range of capabilities. You’ll be at the forefront of enabling effective delivery across highly complex projects and programmes, where you’ll apply your expertise in financial management, supporting project financial reporting cycles with precision and insight. Beyond financials, you’ll contribute to establishing and maintaining robust project governance and controls, develop and manage risks, issues, and dependencies, support with planning and scheduling across complex programmes and strive to embed best practices and drive continuous improvement.

You’ll work closely with client teams and internal stakeholders, embedding best practice and ensuring delivery excellence across a diverse portfolio of high-value programmes. We welcome applications from both full time and part time candidates, and while we offer flexible working arrangements, due to the nature of this role the majority of your working time will be spent onsite, either at client locations or at our AtkinsRéalis premises in Cheltenham.

Your role

  • Contribute to the delivery of PMO functions across complex, multi-disciplinary programmes by providing coordination, reporting, and advisory support as part of a collaborative team, ensuring alignment with delivery standards and programme objectives.
  • Support the implementation and maintenance of governance frameworks and delivery controls by contributing to process documentation, coordinating stakeholder input, and ensuring adherence to established standards across project teams.
  • Work closely with project teams and stakeholders to gather, analyse, and share data-driven insights, supporting informed decision-making and helping shape strategic priorities.
  • Champion continuous improvement and innovation in delivery practices.
  • Build trusted relationships with clients and senior stakeholders.
  • Apply your network and knowledge to support project delivery, including identifying relevant contacts, sharing insights, and helping connect teams with resources that enable successful outcomes.
  • Mentor and support junior PMO professionals, contributing to a culture of excellence.

Alongside your mindset and approach, you’ll also bring:

  • Proven experience in PMO, project support, or other delivery disciplines.
  • Experience in Financial Management.
  • Good understanding of project delivery methodologies (e.g. Agile, Waterfall, Hybrid).
  • Experience using tools such as MS Project, Primavera, Power BI, or similar.
  • Strong people and communication skills.
  • A proactive, solutions-focused mindset with a passion for making a difference.
  • Manage client demands whilst contributing to the development of the Delivery Optimisation sub-practice and Core Market.

Security clearance

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
