As a Risk Manager you will be involved in major infrastructure projects such as the Energy sector, the East Coast Digital Programme, Heathrow Airport, National Highways, and local government bodies.
Responsibilities
- Ensure the successful delivery of risk management services consistently and professionally, aiming to exceed client expectations.
- Implement effective risk‑management activities to actively reduce risk exposure and uncertainty on projects and programmes.
- Support development and implementation of risk‑management approaches and systems for clients, incorporating best practice and procedures.
- Facilitate workshops and engage with project teams to ensure effective implementation of risk management.
- Carry out risk analyses using industry‑recognised software and databases.
- Produce risk reports summarising outputs to suit the needs of the project or programme.
- Support the development of new risk‑management processes, procedures, and tools as part of continuous improvement and innovation.
- Support win‑work activities by preparing bids and proposals to secure new commissions.
- Support business development, client engagement, and other profile‑raising activities to promote risk‑management services.
Qualifications
- Recognised diploma or degree, or qualification by experience with a risk‑management qualification.
- Experience working on major infrastructure projects in at least one of the following sectors: Transportation, Energy, or Infrastructure.
- Demonstrated competency in implementing risk‑management processes aligned with ISO31000, Institute of Risk Management, or Association of Project Management methodologies, including initiation, development, and implementation.
- Experience facilitating workshops, conducting risk reviews with qualitative scoring, undertaking quantitative risk analysis techniques, and producing appropriate risk‑management reports to inform decision‑making.
- Familiarity with industry risk‑management tools such as ARM, Xactium, Primavera Risk Analysis, SafranRisk, @Risk, and RiskPredict.
- Understanding of the Value Management process and its application to projects.
- Understanding of how risk management integrates with other project‑management and project‑controls disciplines such as cost estimating, project planning, and contract administration.
- Strong communication skills with clients and colleagues, confidence in a professional manner, analytical thinking, initiative, creativity, self‑motivation, high organisation, prioritisation, collaboration, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Security Clearance
This role may require security clearance. Offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
