Help clients strengthen delivery confidence on complex secure-government programmes while developing your assurance career in a supportive, collaborative team.

At AtkinsRéalis, our Delivery Assurance team helps clients understand the real health of their programmes through clear, evidence-based assessment and practical recommendations. We work closely with clients and delivery teams to improve confidence, strengthen governance and support better outcomes across complex environments.

This role would suit someone with experience in project or programme delivery, PMO or project controls, who has also supported assurance, review or diagnostic work. If you enjoy making sense of complex information, working with others to understand what is really happening, and helping teams improve delivery performance, this could be a strong fit.

  • Work on complex secure-government programmes.
  • Support or lead assurance reviews and health checks.
  • Provide clear, evidence-based findings and recommendations.
  • Work with specialists across PMO, planning, risk, digital and delivery.

Your role

As a Delivery Assurance Consultant, you’ll assess plans, risks, issues, governance and reporting, identify delivery risks and help clients improve programme performance through practical, evidence-based recommendations. You’ll work with a range of stakeholders, bring together different sources of information and support constructive conversations that help programmes move forward with greater confidence.

  • Deliver reviews, health checks and assurance activity.
  • Review governance, controls, plans, risks, issues and reporting.
  • Work with stakeholders to understand context, gather evidence and build a balanced view.
  • Turn analysis into clear findings and practical recommendations.
  • Contribute to assurance tools, methods and good practice.

All our roles are subject to a minimum of 3 days in the office, either onsite with our clients or at one of our AtkinsRéalis offices, (pro-rata’d for part-time employees). This particular role can be based in Manchester or Cheltenham, and we are looking for candidates who can commit to being onsite for a minimum of 4 days per week.

Experience & Expertise

  • Experience in project or programme delivery, PMO, project controls or governance roles.
  • Strong understanding of delivery frameworks, governance, controls, planning, risk and reporting.
  • Experience supporting or delivering assurance work such as health checks, governance reviews, readiness reviews, stage gates or diagnostics.
  • Ability to assess evidence, identify delivery risks and write clear, practical recommendations.
  • Able to work with stakeholders at different levels and provide constructive challenge in a professional way.
