Join us as the Market Director for Ministry of Defence (MOD) in our Secure Government business unit. This role will form part of the Secure Government Operational Leadership Team (OLT) and will report to the Managing Director, Secure Government. As Market Director, you will lead the strategic growth, client engagement, and operational excellence of the MOD market. This role is pivotal in driving revenue, profitability, and innovation while aligning with the company's long-term vision and values.
You will oversee and be accountable for all market focused activity across our Ministry of Defence portfolio of clients. This includes central MOD oversight and commissioning departments, as well as the conventional forces and supporting bodies. You will bring together people from across our region, and beyond, to develop client relationships that drive long term strategic growth and increase the amount of addressable spend. You will have a vision for the future of Defence in the UK, with the ability to translate client needs into opportunities for AtkinsRéalis. You will be a well-rounded leader, with existing and extensive relationships across MOD and beyond. You will bring a wealth of experience in strategic leadership, business development and business management. You will demonstrate outstanding client and stakeholder management skills, coupled with the ability to succeed in the nuanced environment in which our clients operate.
Your role
- Strategic Leadership
- Develop and execute a 5-year market strategy aligned with business goals. Identify and respond to market trends, regulatory shifts, and competitive dynamics.
- Collaborate with regional and global leaders to leverage mega trends and cross-market opportunities.
- Jointly develop and execute strategic plans for the Secure Government business unit.
- Client & Market Development
- Build and maintain senior-level client relationships across public and private sectors.
- Drive market share growth through new business development and strategic partnerships. Promote selling of services from the full breadth of AtkinsRéalis.
- Operational & Financial Management
- Deliver on annual revenue, EBITDA, and gross margin targets.
- Ensure high-quality, on-time, and on-budget project delivery. Monitor and manage cost-to-revenue/EBIT ratio and financial forecasting.
- People & Culture
- Lead and develop a high-performing, inclusive market team.
- Contribute to an aligned resource plan with market growth forecasts and project pipelines.
- Collaborate on talent development, succession planning, and capability building. Foster a culture of collaboration, innovation, and continuous improvement.
- Innovation & Brand Leadership
- Champion digital transformation and innovative service offerings.
- Represent the company at industry events and forums.
- Enhance brand reputation through thought leadership and client success.
