The role involves delivering a diverse project portfolio within the Buildings & Places practice, working on local, national and international projects across sectors such as Education, Commercial, Industrial, Residential, Defence, Energy and Transportation. Your Role
- As a Chartered Civil/Structural Engineer you will be responsible for the delivery and design of projects and for a varied client base.
- Deliver multiple projects or parts of larger projects to completion, within budget and to programme.
- Ensure efficient, high-quality structural engineering design.
- Apply technical knowledge to a wide range of building structures and comply with BIM standards, Digital Plan of Work and the project BIM Execution plan.
- Act as the first point of contact for clients, contractors, design team and third parties.
- Support and mentor junior team members, formally through their chartership training and informally.
- Manage own time effectively across multiple projects and oversee a small project team, reporting to the team leader.
- Build client relationships and identify business opportunities.
- Maintain flexibility in work location to meet project needs.
About You
- Chartered Engineer, MIStructE or MICE.
- Experience successfully leading the structural engineering delivery of small/medium projects, including management of small, focused project teams to meet deadlines and budgets.
- Design experience with common structural materials and a good understanding of current design standards and working practices.
- Experience with structural analysis design software (e.g. Tekla Structural Designer and/or Robot Structural Analysis).
- Proven track record of developing projects from concept to construction stage.
- Ability to work across multidisciplinary teams and projects.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills to support client relationships.
- Self-directed decision making, initiative and a proactive working style.

Security Clearance
This role may require security clearance. Offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of UK residency of 5 years or longer.
