The MQS will oversee commercial delivery across a portfolio of projects or major commissions. The role combines technical leadership, client management and team management, ensuring that cost management services are delivered efficiently, accurately and to the highest standards. The MQS will act as a senior representative of the business and contribute to its continued growth and reputation.

Your role:

  • Lead commercial management across multiple or major projects
  • Manage and support QS teams, including allocation of work and technical guidance
  • Oversee cost planning, estimating, procurement strategies and tender documentation
  • Review and approve cost reports, estimates and commercial submissions
  • Lead project audits, commercial reviews and cost assurance activities
  • Drive change control, risk management and commercial governance
  • Maintain strong relationships with clients and support retention and new business opportunities
  • Ensure timely delivery of reports and outputs in line with client expectations
  • Manage internal job costing, resourcing and fee monitoring
  • Represent the business in senior client meetings and technical forums
  • Provide expert commercial and contractual advice

About you:

  • Member of the RICS or equivalent recognised institutional body
  • Based in the Manchester office 3 days a week
  • Significant experience delivering cost management on complex projects
  • Strong leadership experience managing QS teams
  • Excellent commercial and contractual knowledge
  • Proven record of client management and achieving client satisfaction
  • Proactive problem solver with strong communication skills

Security clearance:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
