We are looking for an engineer to join our Bridges and Civils team within our Transportation business. You will shape the future of transportation by creating high‑quality civil and structural designs for new builds, renewals, maintenance, and assessments across the United Kingdom and Ireland, including major projects such as Midlands Rail Hub, East West Rail, Lower Thames Crossing, and a variety of National Highways schemes.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop civil and structural solutions for railway projects and other infrastructure works.
- Produce high‑quality design documentation, including sketches, drawings, 3D BIM deliverables, analysis models, calculations, reports and specifications.
- Collaborate with national and international design teams and provide guidance to junior staff.
- Support bids, tenders and the acquisition of new work.
- Apply analytical skills to evaluate engineering problems, appraise options and recommend the most suitable solution.
Qualifications
- A degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or a related discipline.
- Near Chartered/Chartered status with membership of the ICE or IStructE.
- Experience working with key clients such as Network Rail, National Highways, local authorities, or major contractors and developers.
- Strong knowledge of relevant design standards (Eurocodes, DMRB, MCHW, Network Rail standards).
- Practical experience delivering Railway Civil Engineering and Stations projects.
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with a wide range of clients, stakeholders and colleagues across multiple engineering disciplines.
- Knowledge of AI or programming skills is an advantage.
Additional Information
Security clearance may be required. Employment offers will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require proof of residency in the UK for five years or longer.
