Job Description
The Head of PMO (Project Management Office) is responsible, to the Head of Major Projects, for establishing, developing, and leading the PMO function. This role ensures that successful delivery of all projects by defining best practices, implementing governance structures, and optimising project execution. The PMO Lead will drive project management excellence, manage resources, and implement best practices to optimise project efficiency and success.
Your Purpose:
Responsibilities:
- Establishing PMO Framework: Define, develop, and implement a comprehensive PMO framework, including standardised methodologies, documentation, templates, best practises, standards, and processes.
- Governance and Compliance: Ensure all projects adhere to, and conduct QA checks on, tollgate reviews, business policies, regulatory requirements, and industry standards.
- Resource Management: Allocate and manage resources effectively to ensure project teams have the necessary support to meet objectives.
- Performance Monitoring: Track project progress, identify risks, and implement corrective actions to ensure successful project delivery.
- Stakeholder Communication: Maintain regular communication with stakeholders to provide updates on project status, issues, and resolutions.
- Training and Development: Provide training and development opportunities for project managers and PMO team members, fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
- Project Management Tools: Select and implement project management tools, including digital automation, to improve collaboration, reporting, and delivery consistency.
- Reporting: Generate and present reports to senior management, highlighting key performance indicators (KPIs) and project outcomes.
- PMO Team: Lead PMO operations including planning, document control, cost control, risk management, project admin, quality, safety, resource allocation, and finance.
- Nuclear EMEA: Work with the Nuclear EMEA Head of Professional Project Management to set standardised methodologies, documentation, templates, best practises, standards, and processes that are to be applied to all other Non-Major Projects delivered by the rest of the Nuclear EMEA business.Provide oversight of performance and identify improvements.

- Experience: We are looking for project management experience especially experience in PMO leadership would be preferrable.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile are highly desirable.
