We are seeking a Senior M&E Construction Engineer to coordinate engineering deliverables and ensure timely submission across complex infrastructure projects. This role is pivotal in supporting technical reviews, resolving design-related queries, and maintaining project progress through effective liaison with internal teams and external stakeholders. The Senior M&E Construction Engineer will provide backup for critical engineering tasks to avoid delays and proactively chase outstanding actions.
What You Will Do
- Coordinate and monitor engineering deliverables, ensuring timely and accurate submission in line with project schedules.
- Support technical reviews, resolve design-related queries, and provide expert guidance during all phases of the project lifecycle.
- Liaise with internal teams (engineering, design, procurement, construction) and external stakeholders (clients, third-party designers, suppliers) to maintain project momentum and address technical challenges.
- Attend and actively participate in daily technical meetings, supporting the Project Manager and following up on required actions.
- Represent the engineering team in meetings with clients and designers (third parties or in-house), ensuring clear communication and resolution of technical issues.
- Provide backup for critical engineering tasks, ensuring continuity and minimizing project delays.
- Demonstrate knowledge of main equipment functions (CB, DS, ES, CT/VT, SA, Transformer, Reactor, Capacitor, Line Trap) and their integration into single line diagrams, layouts, and other project documentation.
- Apply understanding of secondary equipment (Protection & Control, rectifiers and batteries, DG, etc.) to support design and implementation.
- Review and verify engineering documentation, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and project requirements.
- Support the Project Manager in all aspects of technical project delivery, including risk management, quality assurance, and stakeholder engagement.
Experience Required
- Experience in engineering roles within infrastructure or power projects.
- Proven track record in coordinating engineering deliverables and supporting technical reviews.
- Strong understanding of main and secondary equipment functions and integration in project documentation.
- Experience liaising with clients, designers, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to resolve design-related queries efficiently.
- Proficiency in engineering design and documentation software (e.g. MS Project), and digital workflow tools.
- Exceptional communication and documentation skills.
Education
- Degree in electrical engineering or equivalent qualification.
- CSCS card or equivalent.
- Full UK driving licence.
