The role is to contribute to the design of Electrical, Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) systems solutions for AtkinsRéalis clients. These systems range from simple hard‑wired configurations to complex multi‑panel, programmable systems used in safety or security‑critical contexts.
Responsibilities
- Provide cost‑effective engineering design solutions and high‑quality customer service.
- Engage with clients to understand technical needs and develop successful working relationships.
- Ensure successful delivery of high‑quality engineering works on time, within budget, and to customer satisfaction.
- Specify, design, and implement PLC, DCS and SCADA‑based systems.
- Specify and design instrumentation systems.
- Verify junior engineer’s EC&I technical documentation.
- Assist with technical input for proposals and tenders.
Qualifications
- Capable of working on diverse projects independently or under senior supervision within a team.
- Knowledge and experience of a broad range of control systems and electrical control equipment and its applications in automated and safety‑related systems.
- Experience in the design, substantiation, verification & validation and safety of high‑integrity software‑based protection and/or safety‑related control systems.
- Working toward or already achieved Chartered Engineer status with a relevant professional body.
- Accredited Functional Safety Engineer (e.g., TUV Rheinland IEC /IEC61511 FSEng).
