The Digital Technician will provide hands‐on support to digital tools, technologies, and ways of working used across engineering and project environments. This role is designed for someone at the start of their digital career, offering structured on‐the‐job learning, mentoring, and increasing responsibility as capability grows. The role contributes to enabling safe, efficient, and collaborative delivery through the effective use of digital solutions.
Your role
- Digital Support & Operations
- Support the setup, operation, and day‐to‐day running of digital tools and environments (e.g. collaboration spaces, digital platforms, and emerging technologies).
- Assist with basic troubleshooting of hardware, software, and digital systems, escalating issues when required.
- Ensure digital equipment, spaces, and systems are prepared, maintained, and used correctly.
- Data & Information Handling
- Assist with capturing, storing, and organising digital information in line with agreed standards.
- Support basic data quality checks and version control.
- Follow data protection, information security, and governance requirements at all times.
- Project & Team Support
- Provide digital support to project teams, engineers, and other stakeholders as required.
- Assist with preparing digital materials, demonstrations, or collaboration sessions.
- Communicate clearly with colleagues to understand digital needs and support requests.
- Learning & Development
- Actively engage in structured learning and development activities aligned to the role.
- Build foundational knowledge of digital engineering tools, data, and processes.
- Apply learning directly within the role, demonstrating continuous improvement over time.
