Our hydrogeologists work at the forefront of managing the challenges of providing resilient and environmentally sustainable water supplies for the future while ensuring water habitats are protected from new infrastructure development. We are undertaking an increasing number and range of important and exciting projects that involve groundwater resource evaluation, development and management and environmental impact investigation for water companies, other major water users and regulators. Building on this success, we are growing our friendly and approachable team and this growth could include you. You could help us deliver work across our extensive client portfolio and enhance our already strong reputation for excellence.

Your role:

  • Help to deliver our portfolio of groundwater projects, working with our hydrogeologist technical leads and other technical disciplines.
  • Undertake work assigned to you to a high standard, self-checking to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Undertake complex problem solving that may include data gathering and processing, calculations and modelling, conceptualisation and report writing.
  • Work closely with the rest of the groundwater resources team. Collaborative and supportive teamwork is vital to our success.
  • Work collaboratively with other technical disciplines in the Water Management Consultancy team and beyond, delivering a range of projects relating to water supply, strategic planning, resource optimisation and environmental assessment.

About you:

  • A degree in science, engineering or mathematics and a post-graduate qualification in hydrogeology or a related subject.
  • Demonstrable experience as a hydrogeologist within consultancy, water company, regulator or academic fields.
  • Experience which may include water resources hydrogeology and hydrology, signal and pumping tests, borehole design, groundwater flooding or water resource planning.
  • An understanding of UK hydrogeology and of the regulatory framework of UK water management.
  • A commitment to work towards chartership through a relevant professional body.
  • Excellent numerical, analytical, report-writing and presentational skills and an eye for detail.
  • Enthusiasm and motivation to solve challenging water resources problems within a high achieving team environment.

Security clearance:

This role may require security clearance and offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. If this is necessary, it will be discussed with you at interview. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK of 5 years or longer.
