This role is an excellent opportunity for a developing civil engineer to build strong technical capability and broaden experience across a range of civil infrastructure projects in defence, education, public realm, aviation and more.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the delivery of small to medium infrastructure projects as part of a technically focused design team.
  • Produce designs for projects in accordance with relevant design standards and codes.
  • Ensure the provision of efficient and high‑quality engineering services.
  • Effectively manage own time and workload.
  • Collaborate as part of a multidisciplinary design team and comply with Quality and Technical Assurance procedures.
  • Work within BIM standards, digital plan of work, and the project BIM execution plan.
  • Support statutory approvals, technical consents and planning submissions required to deliver projects across the UK, with occasional international contributions.

Qualifications

  • Honours Degree in Civil Engineering (preferred) or HND or equivalent experience.
  • Working towards Chartered Civil Engineer (MICE).
  • Experience in the design and analysis of drainage, utilities, paved/unpaved surfaces, earthworks, access and accessibility, and construction logistics.
  • Experience with current UK design standards and working practices.
  • Good communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written, including report writing.
  • Ability to use AutoCAD, CIVIL 3D and Revit BIM 360; experience with Infodrainage or Flow for hydraulic modelling and automated swept‑path analysis within AutoCAD is desirable.
  • Proactive, cooperative, and helpful attitude towards colleagues and clients.

This role may require security clearance. Offers of employment will be dependent on obtaining the relevant level of clearance. The vetting process is delivered by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of residency in the UK for 5 years or longer.
