To help deliver our growing portfolio of railway infrastructure projects, we’re looking for a Project Manager to join our team. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of projects from start to finish and grow your career in a dynamic environment.
Your purpose:
- Project Delivery: Lead projects from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Team Leadership: Building, motivating, maintaining, coaching, guiding, and developing the team.
- Planning & Coordination: Work with resource managers to plan ahead and ensure the right skills are available. Align teams on scope, timelines, costs, risks, and interfaces.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report project progress against key targets including programme, quality, financials, and KPIs.
- Governance & Commercial: Ensure compliance with company, client, and industry standards. Manage risks, opportunities, and contract changes throughout the project lifecycle.
- Client Engagement: Act as the main point of contact for clients, building strong relationships and identifying opportunities for future work.
- Win Work: Act as Bid Manager on selective pursuits, working with our Market teams to secure new projects.
- Community Contribution: Share best practices, mentor junior staff, and contribute to the wider project management community.
What you can bring:
- You are likely to have several years of infrastructure delivery experience, ideally from within a consultancy environment.
- Project/Engineering Management background with experience within the Rail sector (eg. Network Rail and/or HS2 and Principal Contractors). Experience in the delivery of railway station projects will be a plus.
- Experience of leading multi-disciplinary design teams (>£1m design fees).
- Understanding of design delivery, assurance, and change control.
- Ability to work constructively and collaboratively with clients and internal teams to ensure project objectives are met.
- Understands and has experience in deploying various forms of contract (eg. NEC).
- Professional membership and recognised level of Project Management competence (eg. MAPM, MICE, PMQ, or equivalent) – desirable.
