As a Senior Engineer in our team, you will support delivery of our global portfolio of projects through various levels of development (conceptual, FEED and detailed design projects) for major offshore wind turbine generator assets together with developing innovative solutions for repair and upgrades. You’ll design and analyse both fixed and floating structures to be designed for the growing offshore renewables sector, actively helping to reduce the effects of climate change.
Responsibilities
- Design and analyse offshore structures, including fixed and floating foundation design for offshore wind turbine generators and substations, considering site specific hydrodynamic loads and environmental conditions.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to deliver structural engineering projects ensuring compliance with industry design standards (API, DNV, NORSOK, etc.) and certification requirements.
- Assess, review, and interpret technical inputs required for offshore structural design.
- Prepare technical reports and supervise and review drafting of manufacturing drawings for the designs created.
- Ensure that all design work under their purview is performed, reviewed, checked, and approved in accordance with engineering procedures or as specified in a Project Quality Plan.
About you
- Good experience in offshore industry with a focus on either Primary or Secondary Steel design preferably for Offshore Wind Turbine Generator Foundations.
- Master’s degree in Offshore Structures, Ocean Engineering, Structural Engineering or relevant discipline with excellent understanding of Structural Mechanics and Hydrodynamics.
- Chartered Engineer or working towards chartership.
- Proficiency in the use of SESAM or SACS software is considered ideal, although practical experience with comparable software can also be considered.
- A team player with good interpersonal and communication skills with ability to adapt to diverse working environments.
- Knowledge in programming and scripting skills (Python or VBA) is considered as an advantage, but not mandatory.
- With “can-do” attitude, capacity to learn from others as well as being persuasive in presenting own technical works.
