We are driving several exciting new-build civil nuclear programmes and are looking for a technically strong individual who wants to grow their career while strengthening our team capability.

Your role

  • You’ll bring your strengths to both small individual assignments and larger, multi‑disciplinary projects.
  • You’ll have the opportunity to mentor and train junior colleagues while applying your technical leadership.
  • Lead the development of new-build civil nuclear design, from concept through detailed design, while guiding junior staff and CAD designers.
  • Interpret Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), cable lists, and equipment data to support accurate CAD modelling.
  • Collaborate with systems, nuclear safety, and civil engineering teams to align layout designs with wider project requirements.
  • Drive project deliverables at key milestones with confidence and clarity.
  • Use proactive problem‑solving and lateral thinking to resolve technical issues effectively.

About you

  • Lead small teams of engineers with confidence and represent work effectively to clients.
  • Hold a BEng/MEng in Mechanical Engineering or a relevant degree, ideally with IMechE chartership.
  • Demonstrate strong technical strengths in plant layout design and optimisation, with a proven record of delivering quality results on time.
  • Have industry knowledge; nuclear experience is ideal, but transferable strengths from other industries are valued, with an understanding of nuclear basics expected.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively in both written and verbal forms.
  • Be comfortable working with and developing detailed technical CAD models.
