Join our Buildings & Places Project & Programme Management team in the Midlands, based in Birmingham (or Nottingham), and start building your career on nationally significant projects. You’ll be part of a collaborative, supportive environment where you’ll gain exposure across a diverse portfolio—from commercial offices and industrial developments to aviation, education and government programmes—while learning from experienced practitioners. This role is about developing your core project management capability, understanding how projects are delivered in practice, and contributing meaningfully to successful outcomes for clients and communities.

Your role

  • Support the delivery of projects across the full lifecycle (RIBA 0–7).
  • Assist in managing programme, cost, risk and reporting activities.
  • Contribute to project controls, governance reporting and progress updates.
  • Attend client and design team meetings, taking ownership of actions and coordination tasks.
  • Help build strong relationships with clients, consultants, and contractors.
  • Support procurement activities and tender processes.
  • Assist in the administration of contracts (JCT / NEC) under supervision.
  • Learn and apply AtkinsRéalis tools, systems and PM methodologies.
  • Contribute to business development research and bid preparation where appropriate.

About you

  • Degree qualified (or working towards) in a construction-related discipline.
  • Strong organisational skills with attention to detail.
  • Positive, collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn.
  • Good communication skills and confidence working in teams.
  • Interest in developing a career across both public and private sector projects.
  • Working towards professional accreditation (APM, RICS or CIOB).
