We are looking for an individual who can bring a project management and pragmatic mindset to digital innovation within our Asset Technology practice. Working across our four Practices: Asset Information Technology, Networks and Drainage Solutions, Utility Land Information Solutions and Biosolids; this role sits predominantly in the water industry where there are opportunities for rapid digital enhancement to help the sector reach its aims.
The successful candidate will collaborate across our leadership team, soliciting requirements and needs from our technical disciplines, and overseeing development and implementation. You’ll help steer the transformation strategy, capturing and quantifying the benefits of digital investments to inform resource plans and new commercial models. You’ll gain a swift appreciation for the sector’s key challenges and steer efforts to solve them through innovative solutions.
You’ll be expected to articulately convey strategic aims and projected benefits through clear investment cases to support the ongoing transformation journey. You will be pivotal in enabling technical best practice, knowledge sharing and innovation. It is a role that brings together your ability to connect digital solutions to client challenges, underpinned by the technical expertise that sits within the practice.
You’ll need to be a networker and collaborator and seek to develop strong relationships both internally and externally. You will be required to connect the dots between client need, delivery challenges, and technology-based solutions, drawing on our experts in the engineering field and technology specialists from across the organisation.
To provide oversight and coordination of the ideation, creation, and implementation of digital solutions, following established governance and processes within the UK&I region, including the Ideas Hub and Digital Operating model. To promote and embed a culture of innovation within the Practice and maintain a robust framework for innovation to turn into digital tools that are mobilised and returning value to the business.
Understand and articulate opportunities for digital solutions to deliver efficiency benefits in the delivery of work. Identify solutions that can be sold directly to clients alongside engineering services into our many frameworks. Consider the suitability of digital solutions to be taken to a broader market for revenue creation.
Provide challenge and support at bid, mobilisation, and delivery stages of projects, to adopt more efficient ways of working to increase our competitiveness, either through differentiation, alignment with the client’s digital environment, or through commercial means, leading to margin enhancement / more competitive bids. Chair and coordinate Digital Accelerator sessions with bid and project teams to ensure a constant cycle of iteration and innovation.
Regular liaison with other Practices and Business Units to share learning, as well as reporting on success to the Practice Director and leadership, conveying the real-world benefits of developed solutions. Conduct due diligence on any third-party digital solutions for evaluation and potential partnerships. Lead the promotion and adoption of corporate digital tools within the Practice.
Create well-evidenced business cases to seek investment in digital solutions. Ensure appropriate models are in place for the development of solutions, identifying key stakeholders across the digital solution development process.
Joining a well-established and successful Practice, you will lead on the digital transformation across regional practices and technical disciplines, ensuring our practice is at the forefront of technology-based value creation for our clients, alongside our established engineering capabilities.
The role cuts across the entire project lifecycle, through collaboration with digital thinkers, technical discipline leads, and market teams, you will be central to enhancing work winning and delivery through the creation and integration of digital solutions.
Collaborating with staff across the practice you will: solicit, evaluate and nurture new ideas, leaning on digital product development principles to conduct client and end user engagement, create evidence-based business cases, before aligning teams to develop solutions from minimum viable product through to production and integration.
Implement and enhance an established framework and process to promote solutions, cross-fertilising them across client and project teams, selling and promoting the solution to clients and delivery teams. Have accountability for our portfolio of digital solutions working with the technical / product leads in the planning, promotion, delivery and financial success of each tool.
Work with SMEs to evaluate offerings and identify how AtkinsRéalis can use third party technology to help drive efficiencies for our clients. Manage large transformation digital initiatives to help drive efficiencies in our internal delivery of AMP8 programmes of work. Promote the use of our Global Digital Delivery Hub in the development and delivery of digital solutions.
Liaise at all levels across the Practice from early careers through to Director level, in the UK and the GTC, to ensure that ‘digital’ is considered in everything that we do; and work within the digital strategy of AtkinsRéalis, assisting colleagues navigate its principles and share knowledge and best practice.
