The Job

Position Overview:

The Business Development Manager (BDM) for House Repair Claims will be responsible for driving the growth and expansion of the company\’s house repair claims services. The role requires a strategic and proactive individual to develop relationships with clients, insurance providers, contractors, and other stakeholders within the industry. The BDM will identify new business opportunities, manage key accounts, and ensure that the company’s offerings align with market needs while achieving business targets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Market Analysis & Strategy: Conduct market research to identify new opportunities within the house repair claims sector, including identifying emerging trends and competitor activities. Develop and implement strategies to expand the client base.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with insurance companies, homeowners, contractors, and property management companies. Act as the main point of contact for key clients to address their house repair needs and claims.
  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities by networking with industry professionals, attending events, and leveraging online platforms. Prepare and present proposals to potential clients.
  • Sales & Revenue Generation: Develop a sales pipeline, manage client accounts, and close deals to meet sales targets. Negotiate contracts and agreements with clients and vendors to ensure the best outcomes for both parties.
  • Project Coordination: Work closely with the operations and repair teams to ensure timely and efficient delivery of services once claims are approved. Oversee the project management of repair claims from initiation through completion.
  • Collaboration: Collaborate with internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery. Provide feedback and market insights to improve service offerings, claim processing, and customer experience.
  • Reporting & Analysis: Track sales performance, prepare regular reports on business development activities, and identify areas for improvement. Provide regular updates to senior management regarding pipeline progress and business trends.

KEY FUNCTIONS

  • Developing and managing a portfolio of Key Accounts.
  • Achieving monthly sales targets by identifying and developing new customers.
  • Ensuring high levels of customer satisfaction as well as upsell and cross sell potential within existing customers to maximise share of wallet.
  • Coordinating pre-sales and post-sales follow up.
  • Achieving and exceeding weekly and monthly KPIs.
  • Building strong and collaborative relationships with other internal stakeholders.
  • Monitoring market trends and providing regular competitor feedback.
  • Identifying opportunities for new business development through following up on leads and conducting research on target clients.
  • New business generation by meeting potential clients to understand needs and providing relevant solutions.
  • Managing the sales process to close new business opportunities.
  • Building strong relationships with the existing portfolio of clients.
  • Meeting and exceeding weekly and monthly activity and revenue targets.
  • Opportunities for career advancement and professional development.

The Profile

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business, Construction Management, Insurance, or related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in business development, sales, or account management, ideally within the insurance, construction, or house repair industry.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with the home repair claims process, insurance industry standards, and claims management systems is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Ability to analyze market trends and develop effective strategies.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience in insurance claims management or house repair services.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Problem-solving mindset and a customer-first approach.
