We’re looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the accounting operations for our Spectacles hardware business! You will establish the costing and revenue frameworks from the ground up, shape our financial systems for scalability, and partner with leaders across FP&A, Supply Chain, and Engineering. This is a unique opportunity to build and lead a team at the intersection of technology, operations, and accounting excellence.
What you’ll do:
- Build a team that is responsible for inventory costing, COGS analysis and product revenue recognition.
- Partner cross‑functionally with FP&A, Supply Chain and Engineering teams to support operational scalability and determine the appropriate accounting for new products.
- Develop and maintain standard costing structures, including BOM costing, overhead absorption and variance reporting.
- Build the revenue recognition framework by identifying performance obligations, transaction prices, and timing of revenue recognition in accordance with accounting standards.
- Drive the monthly and quarterly close process, including journal entries, system integrations, reconciliations, and manufacturing cost analysis.
- Lead the development of the inventory accounting and revenue accounting systems for our hardware business.
- Optimize the ERP and sub‑ledger integrations to automate processes.
- Maintain and track manufacturing equipment and production assets.
- Provide support for the annual financial statement audit, as well as periodic internal audits.
- Prepare materials for internal and external reporting on a monthly and quarterly basis.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives in cost accounting and operational reporting.
- Identify risks, implement controls, and maintain proper process documentation and evidence in accordance with SOX requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Demonstrated experience building and managing accounting teams for product‑based businesses, with a hands‑on approach.
- Deep understanding of inventory and revenue accounting under US GAAP and/or IFRS.
- Expertise with ERP and inventory management systems (SAP, Oracle, etc.), and experience implementing or enhancing such systems.
- Strong analytical and data‑modeling skills, as well as familiarity with Excel, Google Sheets and databases.
- Strategic thinker who thrives in fast‑paced environments, balancing detail orientation with business impact.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to translate complex financial concepts for cross‑functional partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or equivalent years of experience.
- ACA/ACCA/CPA (or equivalent) certification preferred.
- 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including managing cost or revenue accounting teams.
- Background in hardware manufacturing, consumer electronics, or related tech sectors.
- Experience developing or implementing inventory management systems and how they integrate with ERP platforms.
