The company develops Specs, advanced eyewear that seamlessly integrates digital experiences into the physical world.Specs feature see-through lenses that place digital objects directly into three-dimensional space, powered by Snap OS, a proprietary, context-aware operating system designed for natural interaction with your hands and voice.Specs Inc. also provides Lens Studio, a full suite of advanced developer tools that powers immersive augmented reality experiences across Specs, Snapchat, and other servicesWe’re looking for a Production Technician / Engineer to join the Manufacturing Team at Snap Inc!What you’ll do:The role requires wearing a full cleanroom suit, with the expectation that the majority of the working day will take place within the cleanroom, actively engaged in production activities.Perform hands-on tasks relating to the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of products, ensuring adherence to established procedures and specifications.Support and maintain production on a 2-shift rotating basis, including setup, operation, and shutdown of production equipment.Proactively monitor production processes, identify deviations, and conduct initial troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment and process issues.Contribute to continuous process development and optimisation by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, yield, and reduce operating costs.Assist in the development and validation of new manufacturing processes and technologies, ensuring rapid introduction with stable yield and quality.Ensure strict adherence to engineering principles, quality standards, and operating procedures by all staff working within the fabrication and test areas.Respond promptly to out-of-control events, conduct initial investigations, and assist in the disposition and resolution of issues to minimise downtime and scrap.Provide clear and concise feedback and communication to ensure seamless continuity in addressing issues across all manufacturing shifts.Liaise effectively with shift supervisors and fellow Technicians to ensure production priorities are clearly understood and addressed with appropriate urgency.Accurately monitor the status of production processes, including output, yield, and downtime using the MES, SPC data, and the production dashboard.Actively contribute to the training and mentoring of new Operators and fellow Technicians on manufacturing processes and equipment.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:Experience working in a manufacturing / production environmentBroad knowledge of manufacturing and engineering principlesStrong analytical and problem solving abilityGood understanding of statistical process control techniquesKnowledge of scientific experimentation techniquesProactive and capable of working without direct supervisionCan effectively prioritise time and identify and focus on priority issuesExcellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team environmentAdaptable to changing circumstancesMinimum Qualifications:3+ years experience as a Production Technician or Engineer in a similar fabrication environmentLevel 3 diploma or equivalent qualification in EngineeringPreferred Qualifications and experienceLevel 5 diploma or equivalent qualification in EngineeringQualification and / or experience with Lean Six SigmaExperience and knowledge of OEE and Production KPI monitoringStrong planning and execution skillsIf you have a disability or special need that requires accommodation, please don’t be shy and provide us some information."Default Together" Policy at Snap: At Snap Inc. we believe that being together in person helps us build our culture faster, reinforce our values, and serve our community, customers and partners better through dynamic collaboration.
