We’re looking for a Production Technician / Engineer to join the Manufacturing Team at Snap Inc!

What you’ll do

  • The role requires wearing a full cleanroom suit, with the expectation that the majority of the working day will take place within the cleanroom, actively engaged in production activities.
  • Perform hands-on tasks relating to the manufacturing, assembly, and testing of products, ensuring adherence to established procedures and specifications.
  • Support and maintain production on a 2-shift rotating basis, including setup, operation, and shutdown of production equipment.
  • Proactively monitor production processes, identify deviations, and conduct initial troubleshooting and diagnosis of equipment and process issues.
  • Contribute to continuous process development and optimisation by identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, yield, and reduce operating costs.
  • Assist in the development and validation of new manufacturing processes and technologies, ensuring rapid introduction with stable yield and quality.
  • Ensure strict adherence to engineering principles, quality standards, and operating procedures by all staff working within the fabrication and test areas.
  • Respond promptly to out-of-control events, conduct initial investigations, and assist in the disposition and resolution of issues to minimise downtime and scrap.
  • Provide clear and concise feedback and communication to ensure seamless continuity in addressing issues across all manufacturing shifts.
  • Liaise effectively with shift supervisors and fellow Technicians to ensure production priorities are clearly understood and addressed with appropriate urgency.
  • Accurately monitor the status of production processes, including output, yield, and downtime using the MES, SPC data, and the production dashboard.
  • Actively contribute to the training and mentoring of new Operators and fellow Technicians on manufacturing processes and equipment.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Experience working in a manufacturing / production environment
  • Broad knowledge of manufacturing and engineering principles
  • Strong analytical and problem solving ability
  • Good understanding of statistical process control techniques
  • Knowledge of scientific experimentation techniques
  • Proactive and capable of working without direct supervision
  • Can effectively prioritise time and identify and focus on priority issues
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills and ability to work in a team environment
  • Adaptable to changing circumstances

Minimum Qualifications

  • 3+ years experience as a Production Technician or Engineer in a similar fabrication environment
  • Level 3 diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering
  • Preferred Qualifications and experience
  • Level 5 diploma or equivalent qualification in Engineering
  • Qualification and / or experience with Lean Six Sigma
  • Experience and knowledge of OEE and Production KPI monitoring
  • Strong planning and execution skills
