We are looking for a kind and empathetic Carer/Support Worker to provide all‑around care for a 41‑year‑old female with complex healthcare needs. The role involves supporting daily activities, administering medication, managing complex care procedures, and being a calm, supportive presence for Amy.
Salary and Hours
Up to £20.33 gross per hour. Based on a 24‑hour per week contract, the annual gross salary is £24,336.00. Day shifts are paid £18.67 per hour, night shifts £20.33 per hour. Start date: ASAP. Schedule: Saturday 9:30am–9:30pm, Sunday 9:30pm–Monday 9:30am. Additional hours may be required to cover sickness, annual leave, or other absences.
Essential Qualifications
- Experience supporting adults with complex healthcare needs
- Experience with controlled medication and palliative care
- Experience/qualifications in mental health support
- Ability to cope with fluctuating moods and emotional situations
- Non‑smoker or non‑vaper
- Fluent in English
- Vehicle driver licence (automatic, adapted vehicle preferred)
Desirable Requirements
- Enjoys spending time chatting, playing games, or working at the client’s pace
- Friendly, calm, empathetic, emotionally robust, and positive
- Ability to step back when the client needs space
- Experience with private family homes and respect for privacy and family dynamics
Responsibilities
- Assist with personal care, including bathing, dressing, and toileting
- Administer medication, including injections when trained
- Provide companionship and support emotional well‑being
- Help with household tasks within the parents’ home while respecting privacy
- Adhere to allergen restrictions – no strong perfumes, peanuts, onions or shellfish
- Maintain clean, short nails for safety
- Respect and uphold the client’s Christian faith, DNR and ADRT choices
Conditions
Female candidates only. The role requires a non‑smoker/non‑vaper, a native or fluent English speaker, and someone who can work within the specified schedule. Accommodation is provided with a carer's bedroom and bathroom for use during shift. Applicants must be willing to cover additional hours for sickness, annual leave or other absences as needed.
