We’re looking for an AR Engineer to join our Spectacles team at Snap Inc.
Responsibilities
- Help Snap fulfill our vision of Spatial Computing
- Help develop new interactive experiences from prototype to release
- Design and build novel Augmented Reality UI and UX
- Collaborate with Software and Computer Vision teams to create the most fun, surprising, and stable products possible
- Push the boundaries of our AR platform and pave the way for external developers to easily do work at these boundaries.
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Ability to program highly interactive experiences
- Ability to work with digital content creation tools (2D, 3D, etc.)
- Strong communication and collaboration skills
- Expertise in designing, prototyping, and programming with real-time 3D engines and frameworks (Unity, Unreal, OpenFrameworks, Processing, WebGL/OpenGL, etc.)
Minimum qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of experience
- Strong proficiency in a programming language (Javascript, C++, C#, Python, etc)
- A strong visual sense combined with deep technical knowledge.
- Experience designing and developing real-time interactive experiences
Preferred qualifications
- A portfolio of projects (can be just a document with text, images and links about your projects)
- A passion for creating interactive experiences that are fun, delightful, and allow Snapchatters to communicate and express themselves in new ways
- Experience with next-gen UI frameworks like React, Flutter, Swift UI, etc
- Experience with a wide range of programming languages
- Experience writing performant GPU code
- Basic experience with 3D packages like Blender, Cinema 4D, Max, Maya, etc
