The Spectacles design team uses creativity, insights and operational excellence to steer our product vision across generations of Spectacles products. This team of multi-disciplinary designers work in a highly collaborative environment to build the products and experiences that bring augmented reality to life. We’re looking for a Visual Designer to join the Spectacles design team!

What you’ll do:

  • Define and champion the visual of Snap OS ensuring alignment with overall brand guidelines and product vision.
  • Architect ambitious and often ambiguous design projects that will set precedent for the rest of the industry from concept to implementation.
  • Work on an exciting portfolio of projects ranging from emerging 3D and AR technology to iconography systems across our applications.
  • Collaborate with prototypers, product designers, engineers and artists to solve complex problems, translate strategic goals into relevant solutions and build world-class experiences.
  • Design innovative interfaces and AR experiences that push boundaries.
  • Evolve the look and feel of the Spectacles Interface.
  • Make 2D and 3D assets from various concepts into assets for operating system interactive experience and other aspects of the Spectacles interface.
  • Seek out and utilize emerging technologies to scale the impact of the Spectacles design team.

Knowledge skills & abilities:

  • A strong portfolio showcasing your completed work and creative process.
  • Strong 2D & 3D skills.
  • Ability to generate ideas and execute them throughout with clear value to users and within engineering constraints.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working on multiple types of visual mediums.
  • Proactive; self-motivated and willing to explore new territory and challenges.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills.

Minimum qualifications:

  • A strong portfolio showcasing your design work.
  • BS / BA degree or equivalent years of experience.
  • 2 years of design experience.
  • Experience in Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator and/or other design tools.
  • Familiarity developing cohesive visual systems.
  • Proficient in 3D Modeling (Blender, Maya etc).
  • Familiarity with real-time 3D engines (Lens Studio, Unity, Unreal etc).

Preferred qualifications:

  • Proficiency with real-time programming and related programming languages (JavaScript, TypeScript, C#).
  • Proficiency with 3D Modeling software (Blender, Maya etc).
  • Strong demonstrated communication, problem solving, feedback and artistic/creative skills.
  • Experience developing, documenting and implementing a visual language.
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends.
