Client/Child: Frederick (4) is a very loving and active young boy, who lives at home with his Mum and Dad. Frederick excels at and loves swimming. He enjoys watching Hey Duggee and Disney movies on his iPad, building and spending time in homemade forts and camps, listening to all genres of music, and playing outside, especially football. He attends a gymnastics session once a week and loves cuddles with his family. Frederick has a diagnosis of Autism, Hypermobility, Hypertonia and is pre-verbal. He needs full support with his social, emotional and language development and is currently presenting with behaviours that may challenge. Frederick also exhibits some sensory-seeking behaviours and requires reassurance, prompting, supervision, and guidance with activities, social relationships, language development, and his emotional and behavioural needs. He dislikes wellington boots, coughs, sneezes, waiting in line, and crowds. Transitions can be tricky for him if he is absorbed in an activity. Frederick attends speech and language therapy twice a week and is currently attending morning sessions at school.

Overview of Role: This will be an incredibly rewarding role, supporting Frederick and his family. Days start when you will meet Frederick at home after his morning at school. The day will consist of lots of play at home and outside. The role of the SEN Nanny/Manny will be to build a trusting relationship with Frederick and to find and implement techniques and strategies to help him manage his behaviours and develop his social, emotional, and language skills. There is a real focus on Frederick's language development, so experience liaising with Speech and Language Therapists (SALT) and implementing therapies into children’s daily routines in fun and engaging ways is essential. Days will include lots of physical activity and time spent outside (weather permitting), so Frederick's SEN Nanny/Manny will need to be energetic and proactive in supporting this. This role includes light domestic tasks relating to Frederick and preparing his meals. Toilet training will also be an important focus. Frederick needs someone who is fun and engaging but who is also aware of when he needs time on his own. He responds well to routine and consistency. Frederick's parents will benefit from support and advice from the SEN Nanny/Manny, and they would love to be shown some supportive strategies that they can implement with Frederick too.

Who This Job Would Suit: This role will suit a professional, experienced, and energetic SEN Nanny/Manny or Speech and Language Therapist, who has fantastic experience supporting young children with ASC and those that are non-verbal. An emotionally robust person, with a proven track record of implementing strategies to support behaviours that may challenge and language development.

What’s Great About This Job: This is a wonderful opportunity to support the whole family and grow a trusting and long-lasting bond with Frederick to continue his ongoing development.

Who Is Recruiting for This Role: Snap Care will be carrying out all recruitment including shortlisting, recruiter interviews, and arranging employer interviews.
