Isla (3) is an incredibly charming, smiley, and happy girl, who lives at home with her Mum, Dad, and her beloved Dog. Isla attends nursery three days a week, which she loves! Her favourite thing to do whilst there is using the multi-sensory hydrotherapy pool. Isla loves being in water, she finds the feeling very relaxing, and she thoroughly enjoys her baths each day. Isla also enjoys playing with her musical and interactive toys and having cuddles and family time with her Mum, Dad, and Grandparents. She loves interacting with people and is a very chilled out and happy girl. Isla has full body Cerebral Palsy, Epilepsy, Cortical Visual Impairment, is non-verbal, and requires support with all daily living tasks and personal care needs. She is currently receiving all her medication, and some top up feeds, through an NG Feeding Tube, and she will soon be having a permanent PEG feeding tube fitted. She is experimenting with some pureed foods and drinking water from a sippy cup. Isla is currently receiving SALT, OT, Physiotherapy, and music therapy.
This will be a very rewarding role, facilitating Isla’s continued development. Isla’s SEN Nanny will be confident to liaise with therapists and implement therapies into Isla’s daily routines in fun and engaging ways. Term time days start with a nursery pickup, which is a short drive away, where you will receive a thorough handover from staff. Isla loves being outside, so after nursery she’d love to take a trip to the park (weather permitting) or enjoy some play and therapy at home, including daily sessions in her standing frame. During school holidays, Isla would love her SEN Nanny to be proactive in finding accessible and stimulating groups/activities to attend. Isla is surrounded by her loving family, and her care and development is very much a team effort. There will be times when her parents would like to spend 1-1 time with her, and it would be very helpful if the SEN Nanny could support with light household tasks during these times.
A professional and confident female SEN Nanny. Someone who has good experience supporting a child with a disability. Non-smoker/vaper. Driver with own car.
