Care Team Leader

Driver Essential? Yes, an adapted automatic vehicle is provided when on duty

Essential: Professional experience leading/coordinating a care team and supporting clients with a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Confident supporting a person with physical disabilities. Enhanced DBS or willing to obtain one

Desirable: Previous experience working within a home care environment

Start Date: ASAP

Days & Hours: Minimum 24 hours per week, Monday to Friday. 16 hours onsite for Team Leader administrative duties. 8 contact hours, with additional hours available if desired. Hours are scheduled on a 4-week rota, from am to pm.

About this client:

Harry is 31 years old and lives independently in his fully adapted home, separate from his family. He has a team of 12 support workers supporting him 24/7 on a 2-1 basis. Harry enjoys activities such as swimming, bowling, going to the cinema, and recently started boxing classes. At home, he likes watching TV, doing maths quizzes, cooking, and washing up. Harry sustained a traumatic brain injury in his youth, resulting in complex cognitive and physical impairments, limited verbal and no written communication. He exhibits behaviors that may challenge, has reduced short-term memory and orientation, reduced vision, and complex tonal issues, mainly low tone with dystonic patterns. Harry can become frustrated when unable to communicate his needs but also has a cheeky personality and enjoys interacting with his team. He requires support with eating, drinking, personal care, and uses a wheelchair. More detailed information will be provided if shortlisted.

This role suits a high-energy, proactive, motivational Team Leader. Harry\’s well-being is the priority, but supporting your team to maintain high standards of care is also essential. You should bring creative ideas for community outings for Harry. Be thoughtful, sensitive, and consistent in your approach to both Harry and your team.
