A fantastic School Holiday SEN Support Worker / PA opportunity available for a Teaching Assistant, Student, Support Worker or SEN professional seeking additional hours over the summer holidays. Offering £25.00 Gross Per Hour.

Essential: Experience supporting a teenager or young adult with a physical and learning disability. Confident supporting personal care and manual handling. Energetic, proactive and keen to create fun, engaging experiences in the community. This role is open to female applicants only.

Start Date: 22nd July (4 weeks holiday support)

Days & Hours: Circa 5 days per week across weekdays and weekends for approximately 4–5 weeks during the summer holidays. Hours to be agreed with the family. Potential opportunity to accompany the family on holiday to France for one week.

About this client/child: Zara aged 20 is a vibrant, sociable and cheeky young woman with a rare neurological condition. She is non-verbal but communicates through facial expressions, gestures, rudimentary signing and her wonderful personality. Zara is a wheelchair user and requires support with personal care and daily living activities. She loves getting out and about and making the most of her holidays. Her ideal day might include a trip to a café, lunch out, shopping, visiting a local park, listening to music, people-watching, or enjoying games and activities at home. Zara responds best to carers who are bubbly, engaging and genuinely interested in spending time with her, treating her as an active participant in everything around her.

Overview of role: This role is all about helping Zara enjoy a fun, active and socially enriching summer. Her Support Worker / PA will assist with personal care, mobility and daily routines while finding creative ways to make each day enjoyable and meaningful. The family are looking for someone who can bring energy, ideas and initiative to the role; someone who always has activities up their sleeve and enjoys planning outings, exploring new places, and creating opportunities for Zara to engage with the world around her.

Who this job would suit: This role would suit a positive, confident and outgoing SEN professional, Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, student or aspiring therapist who enjoys building relationships and supporting young people to live full and active lives. You will be creative, proactive and happy taking the lead when planning activities and outings. The family is looking to appoint two Support Workers to work closely together throughout the summer holidays.
