Confident, understanding and sensitive female Support Worker in Northamptonshire to support a charming gentleman who has a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with his rehabilitation. Up to £20.00 Gross per hour.
Salary/Wage: M-F £16.00 (£18.00 after probation period), Saturdays £17.00 (£19.00 after probation period), and Sundays £18.00 (£20.00 after probation period) gross per hour.
Driving Requirements: A full UK driving licence is required and you will need your own car to travel to the client’s home.
Essential: Experience supporting a client with a disability, working under the direction of a Multi‑Disciplinary Team (MDT), Waking Night Experience. This role is open to female candidates only. Someone who can implement a ‘hands‑off’ approach wherever possible to encourage rehabilitation and independence. Non‑smokers only.
Highly desirable: Experience supporting a client with a TBI, supporting a client in their own home.

Days & Hours: This role is to cover a minimum of 40 weeks per year, plus additional work covering sickness absences.
About the Client: John, 61, is a charming gentleman with a great sense of humour who enjoys watching sport, golf, playing dominos and backgammon, going for walks, and supporting his beloved Leeds United. He lives at home with his wife and their two grown‑up children. Using a stroller, John enjoys afternoon outings to the local park and café, and for longer walks he uses a wheelchair. John sustained a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) in 2018. Before his injury, he was a successful businessman, active in sport, and even ran half marathons. He requires around the clock support from a highly skilled team. He follows a rehabilitation programme designed by a multi‑disciplinary team (MDT), including Occupational Therapy, Physiotherapy, and Speech and Language Therapy. Due to his TBI, John can experience fatigue, agitation, confusion, and reduced insight into his condition, but he remains sociable, engaging, and often very witty.
The Role at a Glance: This role provides cover for the team’s annual leave (approximately 40 weeks per year) plus sickness, with a combination of daytime and waking night shifts. As part of John’s established team of seven, you will provide respectful, person‑centred support that promotes his independence, dignity and wellbeing, using gentle prompts and visual cues to support daily routines in a calm, non‑patronising manner. John’s day is carefully structured to balance rehabilitation, rest and meaningful activities, and you will work under the guidance of a multidisciplinary team in line with a bespoke support plan. Weekly hours will vary between 26 and 40, depending on the holiday shifts you are covering. Waking night shifts run from 8.00pm to 9.00am. Day shifts are either 7.30am–8.30pm (13 hours) or 9.00am–8.00pm (11 hours).
This Job Would Suit: A female support worker who is kind, intuitive, respectful and empathetic, and confident following MDT guidance. You’ll be flexible with varying hours and have strong communication skills, liaising effectively with professionals. An ability to engage warmly without being overly chatty is important; John enjoys conversation but can tire easily.
