Wage/Salary: £20.50 Gross per Hour | £164.00 Gross per Shift

Driver Essential? Yes, with own car (mileage paid when used on duty)

Essential: SEN, Buddy, Mentor or similar experience. Competent with social media apps such as Facebook, TikTok, Instagram. Confident cooking healthy, nutritious and balanced meals.

About this client: Sophie is intelligent, funny, and a determined 10-year-old with a love for musical theatre, singing, and performing living with her family in Luton. Sophie developed Retinopathy of Prematurity at birth and as a result she has a profound visual impairment. She attends a mainstream primary school, has an EHCP in place and is making remarkable progress.

Overview of role: The main aim of this role is to facilitate and foster Sophie’s overall independence and self-help skills, giving her every opportunity to learn, grow, build her confidence and share similar experiences with her peer group. The SEN Buddy / Mentor will offer encouragement, support, and motivation to enable Sophie to participate in activities alongside her peers and explore new hobbies and interests; her current interests include swimming, shopping and going to amusement parks.

Sophie enjoys keeping up with her friends on social media, therefore, her SEN Buddy / Mentor will be proficient with platforms such as Instagram, TikTok, Snapchat, and Facebook, and competent to support safe use of social media.

Who this job would suit: A great part-time weekend role for a Uni student, teaching assistant, or experienced SEN Nanny / Mentor seeking additional income. You will be interested in performing arts, savvy with social media and technology, and enjoy working in a family setting. The role requires a creative, flexible and adaptable person to support Sophie. Please only apply if you are a driver with your own car.
