Full and part-time contracts are available for an experienced complex care support worker to join a directly employed care team, providing 2:1 support to a truly wonderful young lady with complex needs. About the Client: Winnie, 18, is a fabulous girly girl with a brilliant sense of humour and a love for life. She is a true social butterfly who brings joy wherever she goes! She enjoys being pampered, having her hair and nails done, and expressing her vibrant personality. She has a wide range of interests, from music and movies to arts and crafts, and is always keen to explore new activities. Winnie has Cerebral Palsy (GMFCS Level 5), scoliosis and Dystonia. She requires oral suctioning, nebulisers, and has a Gastrojejunostomy in situ for all nutrition, fluids and medication. She is a wheelchair user and communicates using switches. Due to her care needs, Winnie has 2:1 support, 24/7. Winnie lives in Stanmore with her mum in a fully adapted, welcoming home (complete with a therapy room) and attends college.
Role at a Glance: As a female Complex Care Support Worker, you will work alongside another team member to support Winnie in all aspects of her daily life from personal care and medical needs to helping her pursue her interests and independence; she attends college, Monday to Thursday. You’ll play a key role in ensuring Winnie continues to thrive, learn, and enjoy life to the fullest. Full training will be provided in all aspects of Winnie’s care; however, prior experience in complex medical care is essential. You’ll work closely with Winnie’s family, therapy team, and other healthcare professionals in a supportive and collaborative environment. There are also opportunities for overtime if desired (including days and waking nights).
