A part-time, afternoon role offering set shifts for an enthusiastic, bubbly and fun SEN professional with complex care experience to join a care team providing 2:1 support to a fabulous 17-year-old young lady with complex care medical needs.

  • Nearest Station: Farnham
  • Salary/Wage: £19.00 Gross per hour
  • Driving Requirements: Yes, to drive to and from the family home
  • Essential: Experience supporting young people with physical disabilities, including manual handling, hoisting, and PEG management. Female applicants only.
  • Desirable: Tracheostomy experience
  • Start Date: ASAP
  • Days & Hours: Wednesday 2:00pm–8:00pm; Thursday to Friday 3:00pm–8:00pm; and either Saturday or Sunday 8:00am–7:00pm/7:30pm (twice per month). Applicants who are unable to commit to all of the advertised shifts are still encouraged to apply, as we are happy to consider candidates who can fulfil some of the required hours.

About the Client/Child: Rose, 17, is at the heart of a loving and supporting family; her Mum, Dad, and younger brother. She is an engaging, sweet, and happy young lady with a love for music, especially boy bands! She enjoys pamper sessions where she gets her nails painted, watching movies, sensory play, listening to stories, and loud engaging activities. Rose sustained a brain injury at birth and as a result, is fully dependent on 2:1 support, around the clock. Rose has cerebral palsy, epilepsy, a tracheostomy, requires suctioning, a GJ tube (medication, nutrition, and fluid), and a visual impairment. Rose uses her eyes to communicate and can make her likes and dislikes known. Rose’s home is fully adapted to meet all her needs, and full training is provided in all aspects of her health, care and medical plan.

The Role at a Glance: Rose has a busy schedule that includes home school lessons, therapy sessions, activities, and everything in between. Her parents and care team ensure she has every opportunity to participate fully in family life, explore new hobbies, and continually develop her independence. The SEN / Complex Care Support Worker will work alongside another team member to provide the highest standard of care and support, attending to all of Rose’s health, care, and medical needs. This includes personal care, administering medication, preparing feeds, manual handling, implementing therapy, arranging activities both indoors and outdoors, and maintaining accurate records and care plans. The role involves close collaboration with Rose’s parents, medical professionals, and her wider multi-disciplinary team.

This Job Would Suit: Rose enjoys a variety of activities and is looking for a female SEN / Complex Care Support Worker who shares her interests, such as music, crafting, and reading. You will be fun, bubbly, and proactive, with a genuine passion for helping others live fulfilling lives. The ideal candidate will have experience in complex medical care and be willing to complete mandatory training to continue developing skills, ensuring Rose receives the highest standard of care and support. Applicants must not smoke or vape and be able to drive to and from the family home.
