About our client: Teddy is soon to be 10 years old, and lives at home in Bromley with his Mum, Dad and older sister. Teddy and his family recently moved into a new fully adapted home that meets all his care needs, including a ceiling track hoist, therapy room and swimming pool. Teddy isa bright young boy, with a great sense of humour, and the ability to wrap anyone around his little finger! Teddy has Cerebral Palsy and epilepsy. He is a full-time wheelchair user and communicates via a communication aid, body language, sounds and expressions. He loves spending time outdoors or playing games like ‘eye spy’ and watching movies. Two things are very important to Teddy: promoting his independence and facilitating his decision making. Now Teddy is settling into his new family home, his support team is expanding. Snap Care is assisting his Case Manager and Team Leader to recruit an additional member of the night care team to continue the progress already made.

Overview of role: This is not a typical night care role, although each night shift is a ‘Waking Night’ the main focus is improving Teddy’s sleep quality, with the end goal that he will achieve full night’s sleep regularly. Being in a new house, new bedroom, and expanding team means there have been big changes, and although exciting, Teddy feels understandably unsettled and anxious. Historically Teddy has never been a great sleeper, however, his school days are busy and more demanding, and a good night of sleep is paramount. There is a detailed care plan provided by Teddy’s clinical psychologist to be followed each night to establish good sleep hygiene and a sleep routine. Consistency and continuity are key factors for this to be successful; and we can only consider applicants with full availability to work on a rota basis, and able to commit to this role for a minimum of 12 months. Further information on the role and requirements is available.

Who this job would suit: An experienced, professional and dedicated Night Carer with previous experience of managing sleep hygiene / routines. You must be a strong communicator, confident writing reports / documenting nightly routines and updating care notes. This role is open to *female applicants only.

What’s great about this job: Teddy is a charming young chap, a joy to spend time with and he has huge potential. This is a small, dedicated, and professional team, all focused and working towards the same goal. There is ongoing support, supervision provided by Teddy’s Team Leader and Case Manager, and the opportunity to upskill in many areas with ongoing training.
