The role

We're looking for a Junior Designer to join our product team and help take ranges from first idea to finished garment. You will source fabrics, create colour concepts, work on print stories and build tech packs and produce accurate, detailed working-drawing CADs. You will make sure prototypes represent your design intent, and that every fabric is suitable both for the product and for our full size range.

You will build concepts and themes grounded in the Snag customer archetypes, so each

range is designed for the customer it's meant for. You will work with the team on first

costs to keep products right for our customer base, and alongside the tech team to make

sure garments are produced accurately to the required spec and materials.

Key responsibilities

  • Concept and range building
  • Build seasonal concepts, themes and mood boards rooted in the Snag customer archetypes
  • Make sure each range is designed for the customer theme it serves
  • Create colour concepts and palettes for each range
  • Research innovation in fabrics, trims, fit and construction, and bring new ideas to the team
  • Track trends and competitor activity to inform design direction
  • Design clothing concepts from initial sketch through to final product artwork prints, placements and colourways ready for production
  • Manage lab dips and print strike-offs, checking colour and print accuracy before sign-off
  • Produce accurate, detailed working-drawing CADs
  • Use AI tools to speed up research, concept development and visualisation
  • Prepare design briefs for the wider company, including marketing and CS/CE, so they understand each product
  • Keep design files, tech packs and PLM records organised and up to date

Skills and experience

  • Degree in fashion design or a related field, or equivalent industry experience
  • Confident in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, including print artworking and repeats
  • Able to produce clean, accurate technical drawings and CADs
  • Working knowledge of garment construction, fabrics and fibre composition
  • Experience building or contributing to tech packs
  • Strong colour sense and an eye for print
  • Organised, detail-focused and able to manage several styles at once
  • A clear communicator who works well across design, tech and buying
  • A portfolio showing concept, print and technical work
  • Hands-on experience with a PLM system (e.g. Centric, or similar)
  • Knowledge of fabric types and print techniques (e.g. digital, rotary, screen, sublimation) and when to use each
  • Experience designing across an extended size range
  • Previous experience in a fast-paced fashion or ecommerce brand
  • Knowledge of fabric sourcing and supplier communication
