As a Category Manager at Paulig, you will be responsible for developing and driving category growth in the Asian category within our Customer Brands (private label) business. You will work closely with commercial teams to shape customer strategies, identify growth opportunities, and strengthen how Paulig uses Category Management and Revenue Growth Management to create value.

Responsibilities

  • Turn data into growth – identifying insights to shape category strategies and unlock commercial opportunities.
  • Develop category insights and recommendations to drive growth in the Asian category across customers, channels and markets, with scope for agility across other categories for high‑value projects.
  • Analyze market, shopper, and customer data and translate findings into stories with clear commercial actions.
  • Leverage key commercial drivers such as pricing, pack‑price architecture, mix optimization and trade terms.
  • Support commercial teams in building customer plans and strengthening category thinking in their day‑to‑day work.
  • Contribute to developing Category Management and Revenue Growth Management capabilities within Paulig.
  • Present to and work directly with retailers when the need or opportunity arises.

Qualifications

  • A few years of experience (approximately 4–6 years) in FMCG sales, retail buying, category management, insights or agency roles.
  • Strong analytical mindset and excellent Excel skills, with the ability to work confidently with complex data.
  • Experience in building compelling stories based on market data sources (e.g., EPOS, panel data) and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Understanding of dynamic pricing models linked to volumes, making assortment‑based pricing recommendations and assessing trade terms in the context of driving profitability (RGM experience is a strong plus).
  • Experience or knowledge of retail space management and merchandising, tender management and annual planning, market intelligence and competitor benchmarking desirable.
  • Experience or interest in Asian food categories in Western Europe is an advantage.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work across functions and markets.
  • Fluency in English.
