Job Summary
Smyths Toy Superstores is a rapidly expanding retailer specialising in toys, software and nursery products. We are hiring a Bike Mechanic to support our store operations.
Responsibilities
- Deliver a high level of customer service to all shoppers.
- Assemble bikes in the store and complete all required assembly sign‑offs.
- Maintain and manage health & safety paperwork and certificates.
- Help the team achieve daily targets and ensure the store is well stocked and well presented at all times.
Requirements
- Previous experience in bike assembly or repair is desirable.
- Experience in a mechanical, hands‑on role is advantageous.
- Good organisational skills are essential for managing certificates and paperwork.
- Personal interest in bicycles would be advantageous.
- Retail merchandising experience is desirable but not essential.
Salary & Working Hours
This is a temporary contract. Pay is £12.90 per hour for those over 21 and £11 per hour for those under 21.
The store operates 7 days a week, so flexibility is required. Weekend shifts are expected given the higher trading volume.
Training & Development
Training in bike assembly and health & safety will be provided.
