Smyth & Co are partnering with a growing healthcare charity to recruit a Volunteer Lead for a new community-based initiative. This full-time, hybrid role is based in Hertfordshire and offers a salary of £43,000.

The charity is launching a volunteer service providing compassionate, non-clinical support to people in need. As Volunteer Lead, you will recruit, train and support volunteers, coordinate referrals, and match volunteers with individuals and families. You’ll ensure the service runs safely and effectively, with strong safeguarding and clear boundaries.

You will also build relationships with community partners such as GP practices, Primary Care Networks, community nursing teams, hospices and care homes, helping maintain clear and accessible referral pathways. Alongside delivery, you’ll gather feedback, monitor impact, and support the ongoing development of the service as it grows.

About you: You’ll bring empathy, organisation and confidence to a people-focused role, with experience recruiting and supporting volunteers, building community partnerships, and working with safeguarding and sensitive situations.
