Senior Sous Chef

We are looking for an ambitious and talented Senior Sous Chef to join the kitchen team at our beautiful boutique hotel near Cambridge.
This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who is passionate about high-quality food, enjoys leading a team, and takes pride in delivering exceptional dining experiences.
The Role
Working closely with the Head Chef, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, maintaining high standards across our restaurant, private dining and events.
You will:
Support the Head Chef in leading and developing the kitchen team
Take responsibility for the kitchen in the Head Chefs absence
Help create and deliver seasonal, modern menus using quality ingredients
Maintain consistently high standards of food preparation, presentation and service
Coach and develop junior chefs, helping to build a positive and professional kitchen culture
Ensure excellent food hygiene, health & safety and HACCP standards
Assist with ordering, stock control and cost management
Work closely with the front-of-house team to ensure a seamless guest experience
Contribute ideas and creativity to continually develop the food offering
About You
Were looking for a confident and hands-on chef with:
Previous experience as a Sous Chef or Senior Sous Chef in a quality hotel, restaurant or similar environment
Strong knowledge of modern British and seasonal cooking
Excellent organisational and leadership skills
A genuine passion for fresh, high-quality ingredients
The ability to remain calm and professional in a busy kitchen
A positive attitude and a genuine desire to develop yourself and others
High standards and attention to detail
