The Role
Reporting to the Despatch Manager and to the shift manager out of hours the Team Leader will be expected to:
- Lead Health and Safety – Leadership and coaching in raising hazards and holding safety-for-life conversations, accident reporting and investigation, also to drive a culture of health and safety by acting as a role model.
- Allocate resources accordingly to achieve the planned workload.
- Train and mentor Operators to develop them in all areas of dispatch.
- Ensure the department adheres to all company procedures and SSOW.
- Give regular toolbox talks to the team.
- Provide daily feedback on shift activity and lead Short Interval Control (SIC).
- Ensure all work is performed in a safe manner according to site standards.
- Contact key customers out of hours in the event of a supply issue.
- Liaise with all departments to ensure that a high level of OTIF is achieved.
- Work in a predominantly forklift-truck-based role encompassing general warehouse duties such as palletisation, take-off from production, storage, dispatch, order picking, loading, sorting, light production work, and housekeeping.
- Ensure all load plans are executed on time in full for customer service.
- Raise delivery documentation and control drivers.
- Ensure physical stock movements and locations are always maintained in COBIS warehouse management system.
- Communicate with the customer service team.
- Ensure stock accuracy including aged stock.
- Be responsible for end-of-shift reporting and performance management of shift and warehouse control.
- Be responsible for team performance and development.
- Lead by example.

- Communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
