The Role
To maintain good housekeeping of the goods in area and yard, including directing traffic and regular auditing in accordance with site quality, safety, and environmental requirements.
Main Duties:
- Manage the “Goods In” area, acting as the first point of contact for all incoming deliveries.
- Take deliveries and ensure forms and stereos are in good condition and stored correctly.
- Verify delivery paperwork and file as required.
- Maintain general tidiness and organization of the exterior goods in yard area.
- Police the correct use of external skips to prevent waste stream cross-contamination.
- Coordinate timely skip collections/drop offs with external contractors.
- Handle and file all waste transfer notes (WTN) and hazardous consignment notes (HCN).
- Direct movement of traffic and pedestrians in the area.
- Act as safety marshal for the area, enforcing PPE for both staff and visitors.
- Conduct regular audits ensuring the yard meets BRCGS and applicable ISO standards as guided by site HSE and Quality Management.
- Report and escalate non-conformances regarding site security and cleanliness.
- Perform small upkeep and related duties as requested (for example, but not limited to painting, shredding, furniture movements, minor installations, updating noticeboards, refilling of PPE, deliveries to reception etc.).
