Main Purpose of Job To off load the inbound trailers of pallets and top boards from supplier and customers. This also includes product returns and checking pallets and top boards for outbound to the customer. Working hours 8am until 4pm.
Main Duties:
- Loading and unloading of trailers.
- Checking top boards and pallets for contamination.
- Operating key machinery in accordance with the SSOW in place.
- Follow the established quality control policies and procedures in terms of work organization.
- Fulfill all the requirements in relation to quality reporting.
- Keep the workstation and work area clean and tidy.
- Ensure passing updated information to the respective Team Leader of any maintenance-related issues on a designated machine i.e., forklift.
- Follow all the Health and Safety regulations respective for the specific tasks as well as the general company requirements and report on any hazardous discrepancies that need corrective actions.
- Promote a climate of continuous improvement and employee motivation and involvement at all levels.
- Contribute as a member of the Yate Despatch team when required during day shift hours.
- Follow general manual handling techniques.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
- Demonstrated commitment to good health and safety practices.
- Experience of working within a manufacturing environment would be an advantage.
- Demonstrated ability to work alone without compromising safety and quality expectations.
- Excellent communication and team working skills.
- Ability to identify and act upon process improvement opportunities.
- Experience of working with similar operating equipment would be an advantage.
- FLT experience is essential.
Judgement and Decision Making: A high level of judgement is required as decisions and recommendations will significantly impact on cost, quality and service in the short and medium term. Great attention to detail.
